Krish Patel is a higher-secondary student at Jackson High School, where he pursues a rigorous combination of IB, AP, and Work-Based Learning coursework, with a particular focus on biology, health sciences, and research. His interest in healthcare and emergency medicine has developed through a combination of what he learns at school, independent exploration and direct service within healthcare and community settings too!
Over the years, he has sought opportunities to better understand how medical knowledge, health access, and community support intersect, whether through studying anatomy and physiology at Johns Hopkins CTY, exploring genomics and biotechnology through advanced summer programs offered by Dartmouth and HudsonAlpha Institute of Biotechnology, or volunteering within hospitals, senior care facilities, and food security initiatives.
Outside the classroom, Krish is also an accomplished debater and debate mentor who enjoys public speaking, teaching, and engaging in meaningful conversations with people from various different backgrounds. For him, healthcare isn’t only about hospitals, diagnoses, or treatment, but also about compassion, prevention, preparedness, and the ability to care for one another in moments of need. Through his project, he hopes to build on just that, and help the Amish community strengthen the knowledge and confidence they need, to respond in time, when life reaches.. a critical pulse point.
